WORK ON RANNEY WELLS TO BEGIN SOON IN GREATER FARIDABAD

The water supply in Greater Faridabad will get a boost in the days to come, with the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) identifying the sites for setting up some ranney wells along the Yamuna river in the area. HUDA is going to start the work for setting up Ranney wells in December.
15 Sectors, Sector 75 to 89, will benefit
6 wells are to be laid in Greater Faridabad
4 sites have been identified so far
INR57 crore is the cost for setting up the ranney wells
45 MGD water per day will be supplied by the ranney wells
INR198.5 crore is the total cost of the waterworks scheme for the area.
RAJIV SHARMA,EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, HUDA says,
We have been trying to set up the ranney wells in the area that is close to the Yamuna riverbed. We have identified four places around Kaboolpur where these wells can be laid. The survey for the sites in respect of the remaining two ranney wells is on.
