Online building plan approval begins
Taking one more step towards e-governance that not only reduces time taken in completing a process but also curbs corr u ption, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has started online approval of building plan in the areas falling under its jurisdiction.
Manual submission of the building plan in HUDA office has been done away with.
Plot holders and their architects had to make rounds of HUDA office for getting building plans approved. Unscrupulous HUDA employees would harass the alottees and get their building plans approved for some financial consideration. Some allottees would also get their building plans approved in violation of the HUDA building bylaws by greasing the palms of the officials. However, the online facility will put an end to all these practices.
Addressing a joint press conference with the deputy commissioner, Dr Amit Kumar Agrawal and commissioner of police, Faridabad, Subhash Yadav about the government's plan to end corruption in government offices through information technology, HUDA administrator, PC Meena told mediapersons last Saturday that the authority has launched the online approval facility.
Meena said manual submission of the building plan in HUDA office has been done away with and an allottee will have to submit the building plan through an architect for obtaining approval.
Fifteen architects from the city were given training about the same by the IT Cell incharge Piyush Verma on Monday in the HUDA office, Sector 12. The architects have been given user ID and passwords for them to go ahead with the submission of the building plan on the HUDA website. Several architects submitted the building plans for their clients the same day.
Verma said the application for the approval of the building plan will be rejected immediately if any discrepancy is found in it as per the special software prepared for the same and the reasons for not approving the building plan will also be informed to the applicant. If the building plan is found to be in order, immediate action would be taken to complete the process to grant approval for the building plan the same day, he added.
